The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of our favorite Eric Carle books. Sometime back we created life cycle of Butterfly art to go along with the book. This time we acted out the story using magnetic pom poms and the magnetic very hungry caterpillar.
Materials Used: Cookie tray, white Magnetic pom pom, CD(Taped to the tray using masking tape), Green construction paper leave
Materials Used: Cookie tray taped with construction papers(for blue sky and ground backdrop), Magnetic hungry caterpillar, Yellow magnetic pom poms
On Monday, he ate through one apple
On Tuesday, he ate through two oranges
On Wednesday, he ate through three blue berries
On Thursday, he ate through four Bananas
On Friday, he ate through five strawberries
On Saturday he ate through lots of foods, We didn't do all of them. We just read through the pages.
On Sunday, He ate through a single green leaf
We placed our very hungry caterpillar inside a TP roll(Cocoon)
Materials Used: Cookie tray, Magnetic hungry caterpillar, construction papers, Toilet paper roll
For the body of the butterfly, We used magnetic hungry caterpillar and For the wings, we used magnetic pom poms
CJ was super excited when she completed her beautiful butterfly. She said "Mommy the butterfly was feeling lonely, so look what I did!"
"In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf."
Materials Used: Cookie tray, white Magnetic pom pom, CD(Taped to the tray using masking tape), Green construction paper leave
Sun came up and Pop! - out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar

For the next few pages, we tailored the fruit names based on the pom poms we had
