Recently we got a fragile parcel and that means a box full of packing peanuts. Now what do we do with the box of peanuts! We have been playing around with them. CJ and I had fun building shapes, 2D's, 3D's with tooth picks and the packing peanuts.
All you need is: A basket of packing peanuts and tooth picks(dollar store find: 3 for $1)
Basic/Base connections!
Mom, Look I made a man with silly eyes!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The Busy Spider
Alphabets and Flower
Though we were not able to build steady packing peanut structures, we gave it a try!
Table and chair arrangement
Cube and pyramid
Stay tuned for some more packing peanut fun!

ReplyDeleteOh, love this! :) Featured on this week's High paw! Always a pleasure to see your play ideas! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle!
ReplyDeleteGood job coming up with something creative to do with those things. The kids tend to make such a mess with them that I try to get them out of the house ASAP, but maybe next time I'll give this activity a try.
ReplyDeleteOooh and another clever idea - perfect for geometry and lovely shapes!
ReplyDeleteThank you again for joining Kids Get Crafty!
Maggy
I have done this with marshmallows, but this is even better bc my daughter won't end up with a sugar high afterward.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to recycle! Nice activity! Thank you for stopping by and linking up to The Sunday Showcase
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery creative!!!

ReplyDeleteAny idea of an alternative to toothpicks? They might be dangerous for the age group I'm working with.
