Rainbow Pumpkin

Paint a pumpkin Rainbow colors
My little girl got a glittered pumpkin from her school. She had painted the pumpkin and sprinkled glitter all over the pumpkin. We wanted the pumpkin to dress up a table in our living room but the glitters where falling all over the living room. I thought of repainting the pumpkin without glitters. Washed the pumpkin, left it to dry and then I made her to paint a rainbow pumpkin. Starting with red color she painted each vertical section of the pumpkin with other rainbow colors: orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. we repeated the same pattern until all sections of the pumpkin were covered. After the rainbow colors were done, I made her to paint the stem of the pumpkin White.

Rainbows are my little girl's favorite at the moment. She was excited with esteem when her artwork was completed and displayed. For me this simple activity became a easy way to teach the rainbow colors and the order of their occurrence.
